Watching sexual intercourse at ONDA festival

ONDA-MATSURI (MATSURI means festival) is rice-planting festival.
In japan, rice-planting festivals are held at a lot of shrines, but this ONDA festival is different from others. Because in this festival, TENGU and OTAFUKU(Japanese folklore characters) have sexual intercourse performance.
TENG is man. He has long nose, so the character is considered as a symbolization of phallus. And OTAFUKU is lady having white face looks like female private part. So this 2 characters are regard as sexual symbolization often. (Although, players are both men.)
This festival is held on sunday the nearest February 3rd. In japan, February 3rd is considered as the day starting of spring.
In Japanese old culture(and other a lot of cultures around the world), sexual intercourse have relation to fertility. So they pray for fertility by playing sexual performance.

After finish of all, TENGU wipe his and OTAFUKU's crotch and throw the tissues he used to audiences. This is called "FUKU-KAMI". FUKU means wiping and happiness, KAMI means paper and god in japanese. It's double meaning and joking. audiences compete to catch the tissues, because who can get the tissues can get happiness. (Although it's just a used tissue ... )
Before and after the festival, the TENGU and OKINA(means an old man) wander around shrine, and they hit tourist's hips by bamboo stick. This deed is believed to ward off evil, and give child for ladies.
When I saw the sexual performance in this festival, it was very short less than I thought....Actually I have an unsatisfied feeling. I hear that the TENGU performer change every year, so the performance change too. I want to see more powerful TENGU next time.lol
